The funds are provided by the Illinois Invest in Kids tax credit scholarship program.
The funds are dispersed through Empower Illinois…a Scholarship Granting Organization. Their website is www.EmpowerIllinios.org
Student applications will begin on January 24, 2018.
These scholarship funds are available to current students and to new families who now can choose a school that was economically unfeasible for them in previous years.
The funds will be disbursed on a first come first served basis.
Eligible students are ones in which family income (2016) does not exceed 300% of federal poverty level. For a household of 4, this income number is $73,800.
At this point it is impossible to know how many students will receive scholarships or the amounts. You have nothing to lose by applying. More information on this opportunity will be coming later including tips on how to fill out the application. Be sure to check out
